SELF INVITED TO ATTEND WHITE HOUSE BUSINESS COUNCIL ROUNDTABLE

St. Lucie County, FL, May 13, 2014 – The Solar and Energy Loan Fund (SELF) is honored to receive an invitation from the White House Business Council to participate in the Sustainability Roundtable scheduled for May 15th, in Orlando. The event is being held with Gina McCarthy, Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and is co-sponsored by Voces Verdes and Business Forward.

Voces is an independent non-partisan coalition of Latino business, public health, academic, community leaders and organizational partners who advocate for sound environmental policy to support clean, renewable energy. Business Forward represents business leaders from across America who advise Washington on how to create jobs and accelerate economic recovery.

SELF Board Member, Fran Ross, said, “SELF is very pleased to receive this invitation from the White House Business Council, and we look forward to the discussion with the EPA administrator, Gina McCarthy.” One of the specific topics of discussion will be how to deploy cost-effective clean energy alternatives in working class communities, which is SELF’s specific area of expertise. SELF Regional Program Manager, Julian Nazario, said, “We are looking forward to sharing our experience and offering real world solutions.”

Reporting and New Project Officer

Jacqueline is currently earning her degree in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering. She gained experience with SELF by volunteering time to assist with DOE reporting, ARRA & County as well as internal reporting. She also assisted in the development of the new Management Information System (MIS). Due to her high performance, she was hired on a part time basis as the IT and Reporting Associate and is now performing several duties including; troubleshooting hardware/software issues, data management assistance, graphic design and web maintenance. She is also responsible for SELF’s internal “ RESULTS DASHBOARD” a well as completing reports to various government and funding organizations. Hudson works in close liaison with all staff members to collect information and reports to directly to the CFO as well as to the Executive Director when needed, on all aspects regarding data and systems.
